Important info for educators attending the Show

Arrival & Departure

The Victorian Careers Show is located at Exhibition Pavilion 1, Melbourne Showgrounds.

  • Bus Arrivals: Bus drop off and pick up is at Gate 5 via Langs Road, Ascot Vale.  If arriving by bus, please refer to the bus arrival map and instructions provided in our email and share these with your bus drivers before the event. 

  • Public Transport: Take tram 57 to stop 33, which conveniently stops right at the main entrance of the event.

Tickets
  • Each student must keep their ticket with them for entry and re-entry to the Show.

  • Additional student tickets can be arranged on the day at the Information Desk just inside the main entrance. Our staff will issue the tickets and take your details for post-event invoicing.

  • Additional teacher lanyards are available at the Information Desk. Please return to designated bins for reuse.

  • School group student tickets are $10 each, accompanying teachers and staff are free.

Seminar Locations
  • VCE subject seminars will remain in a dedicated seminar room towards the rear of the Show. 

  • The new stage is located in the dining and seating area on the eastern side of the venue, towards the food trucks. It will host presentations throughout the day from universities, training providers and organisations.

Dining
  • Food trucks on the eastern side of the venue will offer a range of options for purchase.

  • Additional options are available at the nearby Showground Village Shopping Centre.

Prayer Rooms
  • The venue does not provide dedicated prayer or reflection rooms.

  • If required, groups are welcome to step outside the venue to a quieter area outdoors and return using their tickets. Please ensure students are supervised at all times.

Teacher Lounge

A dedicated space with tea, coffee and seating is available for teachers inside the Show.

Teacher Resources

The student Passport worksheet is available to support learning before, during and after the Show. Developed in-house by a teacher, it aligns with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model and VCAA Career Education curriculum.

Duty of Care
  • Attending teachers are responsible for the supervision, behaviour and wellbeing of their students during the visit.

  • Please ensure you:

    • Brief students on appropriate and respectful behaviour in a public event environment

    • Set and communicate clear meeting points and departure times

    • Have a plan to regroup students before leaving
